Tutorials for KDE and Linux Users and Administrators
Schedule (timing for each tutorial: 9:00 - 17:00 h)
(in Ludwigsburg/Germany, Region of Stuttgart, 23rd to 27th of August)
While KDE developers are holding their technical conference or engage in a coding marathon, you, as an IT professional and Linux user can take part in one or more one-day tutorial.
We have won some very well-known instructors and trainers from all over the world to teach the topics listed below. Make sure to not miss this unique chance. It may take a long time to re-occur!
You can benefit yourself and also let KDE benefit by registering for one of these tutorials:
- ask your company to send you to one or more of these very distinguished courses;
- some of the instructors "earn the money" (to pay their overseas airfare to participate in aKademy) by teaching one of the courses;
- KDE will be able to put any additional money income from the tutorials to good use to finance other preparations and proceedings of the 9-day mega event.
- All tutorials are geared towards IT professionals who need to learn more about established or new tools of their trade.
- Topics are not limited to "KDE-only" stuff. They also cover fields of general network, server computing, computer security and migration problems.
- There will be a limitation of 15 seats per course. You will have access to a PC if required (or bring your own Laptop).
- By booking one or more tutorials, you are not only benefitting from the things you learn: you also support KDE to organize and finance its annual World Summit and enable the project to continue work on building the world's best desktop environment for Linux and Unix, offered for free to you and everone.

Who should attend the "Tutorials for IT Professionals"?
A few ideas to consider:
Note: Some tutorials will be held in English, some in German.
Date: weekdays from 23rd to 27th of August.
Participation and Costs
Full-day tutorials will be at 500 Euro. Multiple tutorials booked by the same organization will entitle for rebate (ask us for the rate).
Financing the Event
KDE e.V. is soliciting donations from companies and individuals towards this conference. These donations will be used for organizing and running the "2004 KDE Community World Summit" (code-named aKademy). One big part of the funds are required for bursaries to KDE developers and delegates from other continents and/or without income. Delegates with an accepted paper/presentation will be prioritized in the distribution of these bursaries.
Our "Tutorial Program for IT Professionals" aims to offer excellent quality content. We offer you the support of some of the best instructors on their respective fields --- you pay us a competitive participation fee in exchange. If you want to support KDE and help finance our World Summit: Book one or more of the tutorials. Ask your employer to pay the tutorial fees. You will get real value in exchange -- you'll learn a lot of useful stuff, we promise.
Please send all suggestions and questions to KDE Conference 2004 Team. However, registration is only possible via the online registration area.
