In this talk we show how to integrate external tool commands, the usage of external commands for text manipulation and as external text sources. We will show a preview of future kate extendability with javascript plugins which is not ready for KDE 3.3 and will be in KDE 3.4/4.0 (whichever comes first)."
If there is interest and time left we can do a short introduction to writing kate highlighting definitions or a short overview of currently available plugins(kdeaddons),
The indented audience are users who need need a text editor for more than just typing text.
About Joseph Wenninger
Joseph Wenninger was born 1979 in Vienna (Austria) but ever since has been living in Wiener Neustadt. At the moment he is still student at the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Technical University Vienna, and is working from time to time as software developer and network administrator. Joseph Wenninger is working on all parts of kexi, where help is needed, mostly core stuff and basic design. When not coding something for KDE he enjoys reading science fiction or fantasy books, riding the bike and listening to music (classic till modern) and watching movies. |
